Join us on June 19th for a lunch time Healthy Planet Club session at the lower end of Charlie’s Trail to remove invasive English ivy. We are honoured to welcome educator Loreisa Lepine, who will lead this session. The hour will include information about the importance of ivy removal as well as a chance to contribute our efforts to removing it.

There are many spots around campus with invasive ivy, but we chose this area where the creek meets the ocean, since it’s choking out the native trees and plants, as well as endangering a critical salmon habitat. Register below to join us for this hands-on learning opportunity!

More about the session facilitator: Loreisa Lepine is University of Victoria’s Indigenous Land Steward. Her work is focused on the creation and prioritization of reconnection to land for Indigenous students in their Lekwungen homelands. She also leads the A Place of Medicine restoration project at UVic.

This session is open to RRU students, staff faculty & librarians. Please meet us at the lower entrance to Charlie's Trail at noon. If you're only able to join us for an hour - that's totally okay.

The Healthy Planet Club is an initiative co-led by the Climate Action and Sustainability Team and HR's Healthy U team to offer campus stewardship opportunities to staff, students and faculty. We gratefully acknowledge WWF-Canada's Go Wild grant for support of RRU's Healthy Planet Club.
