What happens next?
After your application is complete, which means all documents are submitted, we'll assess it to make a decision. The length of time this takes can vary. You will receive the results via email.
Also note that in keeping with the Learning, Teaching & Research Model applicants must show the potential to work in a collaborative, respectful manner with staff, faculty and students. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission, and the university reserves the right to deny any applicant. Abusive or disrespectful correspondence from applicants will not be tolerated.
If you are accepted
You'll receive a letter of offer that invites you to study at Royal Roads.
Your next step is to submit your acceptance and pay the non-refundable tuition deposit before the deadline stated in the letter.
For domestic applicants this is done by logging into MyAdmin and following the instructions.
International applicants accept their offer by submitting an Offer Acceptance Form. Then additional instructions are emailed about how to pay the non-refundable tuition deposit by the deadline.
Seats are limited. Students are admitted or waitlisted in order of their paid acceptance.
If you are given a conditional acceptance
You might receive a conditional offer to your program. This means you'll need to meet specific requirements before the program starts. If you don't meet these conditions by the deadline, you'll most likely be deferred to the next available program intake or your admission may be cancelled.
Confirming your admission
Once we've received your acceptance and non-refundable tuition deposit, we’ll send you an email confirming your admission status.
If you're an international student, we'll also send you a Letter of Acceptance, and a PAL when applicable, that you can use to support your study permit application.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which grants study permits, won’t accept a letter of offer. They will only accept your Letter of Acceptance, which shows you have paid your deposit and secured a seat in your program.
If you are placed on a waitlist
If your chosen program intake is full, you can accept a waitlist seat. Or, you can choose to accept into the next available intake.
If you're on the waitlist, you’ll get regular updates about your position. When a seat becomes available, you’ll be admitted automatically. You can see your position on the waitlist at any time by logging into your MyAdmin account. If you wish to change your acceptance and be removed from the waitlist please email us.
If your application is unsuccessful
Unfortunately, not all applicants may be accepted to the program they apply for. Meeting the admission requirements set out by the University does not guarantee admission. Royal Roads University reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone, and those decisions are final.
However, in most cases, you're welcome to apply to another program.
