This award supports former student Wanja Munaita’s goal to make justice available to all. During her time at Royal Roads, Munaita knew she was passionate about justice. However, it wasn’t until she had completed her program and started working that she learned this passion was at her core. Munaita was inspired to start this award by those who made sacrifices for her education, particularly her late mother and her father who continue to guide her.

The award was established to assist students who are enrolled in Royal Roads’ Master of Arts in Human Security and Peacebuilding program and are passionate about delivering justice or improving others’ access to justice. Preference is given to those working in African or Canadian Indigenous communities.
