Moving an online community development module into the open: longitudinal study

Drs. Axe and Childs used a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council grant for research project that studies the “The Link” an online learning community and its impact on inclusive learning.

This project examines ways to effectively integrate learners into fully online programs who come with different goals. Through The Link, an online community-building module, we endeavour to create an inclusive learning environment, where learners are supportive of each other and have an understanding that they each have unique strengths to bring to the class and team environments. This project examines the impact of The Link over time (2015-2019) on the development of online learning communities, and cumulates in the launching of an OER version of The Link for educators globally to adapt for their own unique contexts.
