World Café as Research: Method & Impact: Research & Support for Book Phase 2
Dr. Agger-Gupta was awarded Research and Professional Development funds for a project to construct a handbook to illustrate issues using the World Café tool as an inquiry method.
The World Cafe (TWC) is a tool for engaging ‘conversations that matter’ in organizations, but was not designed as a method for scholarly research (Brown & Isaacs, 2005). In over 70 theses and dissertations at RRU and elsewhere, students have created their own strategies to address ambiguities in TWC to use this as a research method. This project supports the writing and editing of an edited “handbook,” illustrating the epistemological, ethical, design, and methodological issues involved in using TWC as an inquiry method. The book will combine new research with case studies from researchers from around the world.
