Research Training Awards are designed to foster the development of occupational health and safety research expertise in B.C. We support the training of new researchers today who will be able to help answer the critical research questions of tomorrow.

Awards include a $20,000 stipend and a $2,500 research and travel allowance. In making funding decisions, we consider academic standing, the proposed research project, the research training environment, and letters of reference.

Eligibility

Research Training Awards are available to highly-qualified graduate students at the master’s and doctoral level. To qualify, students need to be engaged in full-time research training, with a focus on occupational illness, injury, and disability.

To be eligible for consideration for Research Training Awards, research projects must address our research priorities. These competitions typically take place at the beginning of each year.
