Trialing a Rapid Research Writing Sprint Phase 1

Kathleen Manion received Research and Professional Development funds to write two research papers using the rapid research writing sprint model to examine its efficacy.

Academic success is dependent on publishing, and yet the workload of academics leaves little time for writing. To address this issue, we have developed a rapid research writing sprint model (RRWS) based on the BC Campus OER textbook sprint approach. In this first phase, we will trial RRWS by writing two research articles and using ourselves as research subjects to explore the efficacy of this process. In the future, we expect to use RRWS to work with research assistants to support knowledge mobilization and, if successful, we will share our process with the broader community of RRU scholars.
