Transition Training for Social and Support Workers

Funded by the Victoria Foundation and in partnership with the Caring Families Society, the project will provide trauma-informed transition training for social and support workers.

This project, a collaboration between Royal Roads University and the Caring Families Society, will provide trauma-informed transition training for social workers and support workers across Vancouver Island and BC. Over the past two years, training was developed and tailored for foster and kinship caregivers, and this new iteration will meet the needs of workers supporting caregivers and children.

The Trauma-informed Transition Training for Social Workers and Support Workers (TTTSW) will meet the unique needs of workers who support kinship and foster caregivers. This newly created training, informed by action research and current literature will equip those supporting caregivers to more effectively facilitate positive outcomes for children and families.
