Towards ‘Environmental Reconciliation’: Interlinking Environmental Communication, Arts-Based Research and Indigenous Ways of Knowing for Sustainability
Dr. Takach used Research and Professional Development funds to present at conference current research on environmental protection through communication and indigenous ways of knowing,
This project involves travel to an international and a national conference to share my latest research with three collaborators in at least three presentations (a fourth acceptance pending):
(a) interweaving Indigenous and settler knowledges in the co-management of natural-resource projects, towards environmental protection and Indigenous reconciliation (poster and perhaps paper, with Asma-na-hi Antoine);
(b) interlinking Indigenous ways of knowing and arts-based research in communications towards environmental protection and Indigenous reconciliation (paper with Asma-na-hi Antoine and RA Kyera Cook); and
(c) reflecting on the role of water in RRU’s gardens and in society generally, towards environmental protection (performance with Paul Allison).
