Summary
Thiago joined the Centre for Teaching and Educational Technologies (CTET) as an Instructional Designer in July 2024 and is a liaison with Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS). Thiago is particularly interested in the intersection between education and technology and how to explore digital technologies critically and creatively.
Experience
Thiago has been working in the field of education for over 20 years and has experience as a teacher, educational researcher, and instructional designer. Thiago started using technology when he was very young and has benefitted from the many learning opportunities that came with it. As a classroom teacher and sessional instructor, Thiago has worked towards finding ways to enhance his teaching and student learning by incorporating technology into his lessons. His research interests and practice have revolved around digital literacies and how to help teachers learn about technology so that they can use it to enhance their instruction and teach students how to use it critically. His work as a designer has involved collaborating with university instructors and staff on finding digital solutions that align with pedagogical objectives.
