Teaching Asia Beyond the Ivory Tower: The American Overseas Research Centers and Broad Educational Engagement
Dr. Krusekopf was awarded an Internal Grant for Research to present on a case study at a conference on Asian Studies, on a project to develop a field school in Mongolia.
Charles Krusekopf will be presenting a case study on a panel at the Association for Asian Studies 2019 Annual Conference scheduled to take place March 21-24, 2019 in Denver, Colorado at the Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel. The panel topic is: Teaching Asia Beyond the Ivory Tower: The American Overseas Research Centers and Broad Educational Engagement, and Dr. Krusekopf's paper is on the Development of a Mongolian Studies Field School, a project he is leading to develop and carry out a field school in Mongolia starting in summer 2019. The field school program highlighted will be a student research program on Mongolia’s energy systems, with a focus on renewable power development including solar, wind and hydro power for both local and regional use. The field school program will be open to participation by RRU students, faculty and alumni.
