“For adult students like myself, taking time away from work to complete an education is a big decision – and one that can come with huge financial and familial considerations. Thanks to the Professional Communication program’s accelerated and focused nature, I was able to complete my degree within a reasonable amount of time. RRU was also a good fit when it came to my preferred style of learning. The ‘factory education’ of other universities (that is, the process of showing up to class, doing your time and getting your degree), is the exact opposite of how things are done at RRU, a school that allows, and even facilitates, personal connections with professors and fellow classmates. Here, you’ll chitchat with your instructors on the campus grounds, you’ll develop real friendships with other students and you’ll benefit from an experience-based, not textbook-based, style of learning.
This degree has opened my eyes to career tracks I had never considered, and I feel like the skills I’ve developed are transferable to many industries. The RRU campus is great, too, and boasts fantastic views, abundant nature and lots of peacocks. Just the other day, I had this eye-opening moment walking to class through a wooded forest on the RRU grounds. As I stood amongst the 100-year-old trees and listened to the birdsongs, I couldn’t help but think this is a campus unlike any other.”
