A spectrum of educational approaches: A resource for neurodivergent student support needs
Drs Hartney and Hodson received Allan Cahoon Global Advancement and Diversity Funds to explore in three stages neurodivergent students’ experiences accessing Royal Roads University.
This project will explore past and potential neurodivergent students’ experiences accessing Royal Roads University (RRU) in three stages: (1) a small Centre For Dialogue event that will bring together approximately 10 RRU alumni or potential RRU students with ASD diagnoses (male, female, non-binary) with faculty and staff for a dialogue about student experiences, (2) a multimedia online training resource developed in partnership with Autism Community Training (ACT) BC that will provide educators with tools to more effectively work with neurodivergent students, and (3) a gendered analysis of the data generated, which will be used to develop additional recommendations for the under-serviced area of inclusive education related specifically to neurodivergent women.
