Summary

Simone works with faculty, staff and outside stakeholders on designing and developing learner centred courses and programs. She focuses on inclusive experiential opportunities that allow students to think beyond the classroom. Her research areas have focused on bridging divides and reducing ageism through using technology as a tool for intergenerational learning, shared story, and play.  

Simone is excited to explore new technologies in learning environments and the reciprocal role they play in student’s understanding and experience while students also shape their use. For a list of publications please see her Google Scholar profile

Experience

Simone has an extensive background in educational research, learning design, and instruction. She has worked as a learning designer with the University of British Columbia and as an educational developer with Simon Fraser University. In addition, she has taught courses in various education programs including at SFU, UBC, and Vancouver Island University. 

After completing her PhD, she worked as a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Sydney to design a program and research the impacts of challenging ageism through a reframing lens.
