Dr. White used Research and Professional Development funds to address the design and governance of community cultural and arts centres by researching the proposed Emily Carr Centre for the Arts.

This research project will identify applicable social enterprise/enterprising non-profit operating structures for the proposed Emily Carr Centre for the Arts in Colwood, BC. This research initiative will identify and assess applied research addressing the design and governance of financially sustainable community cultural and arts centres. The primary output will be to develop up to three alternative models identified as viable based on secondary research and focus group interviews. A secondary output will be to research and assess applicable partnership models, and the development of a case study.
