From Problems to Possibilities: Integrating Values Discussions into Community Survey Strategies

Dr. Taylor was awarded a Research and Professional Development grant for a research project of the practices of Canadian and international teams in data gathering activities.

This project documents the accomplishments and current practices of teams that have developed survey and other data gathering practices that recurrently document social values and life features with the intention of engaging citizens and leaders in the results. While emphasizing Canadian sources, it also includes international teams’ work with similar purposes. The project highlights the differences and similarities among these initiatives, their histories and future goals. The objectives of the project are to publish progress and challenges in these practices and, potentially, to foster networking and collaboration among teams that conduct this work.
