Presenting Academic Research on Social Innovation at the 2018 Ashoka U Exchange

Dr. Madan was granted Research and Professional Development funds to present on how we educate doctors and psychiatrists about models of treatment in mental health at the Ashoka Exchange.

Royal Roads University (RRU) was recently designated as a Changemaker Campus by Ashoka. This year’s Ashoka Exchange is in Boston, from April 5-7. Exchange is a forum to disseminate and discuss practices embedding social innovation in higher education.
This year’s program included a call for academic researchers – a first for Exchange, whose program typically engages industry. I submitted a proposal entitled “Reverse Innovation: Learning from Ashoka changemakers to inform how we educate doctors and psychiatrists about models of treatment in mental health”. My submission was successful. The selection committee is “thrilled to feature [my] work on the agenda and welcome [RRU] to Exchange!”
