Presenting at the 7th Conference of the International Society for Child Indicators August 27-29, 2019 / Tartu, Estonia

Dr. Manion received Research and Professional Development funds for both research dissemination and continued data collection at an international conference on child indicators.

Building on a generous Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Institutional Grant awarded last year, this research continues to build and grow. The research identifies innovative approaches to supporting children to thrive, share evaluation practices, and distill key lessons. Using interviews and digital stories it seeks to identify and amplify case studies where social innovation has enabled successful implementation of policy, practice or processes that illustrate child-focused initiatives across sectors that protect children and promote their wellbeing. The requested funding would support both research dissemination and continued data collection during an international conference that pulls in actors from around the world working to support children to thrive.
