
Hill is a queer of colour scholar, researcher and dreamer. Her work is informed by theoretical perspectives of critical kapwa pedagogy – a fundamental Indigenous Pilipino value of deep connection with and commitment to community.
Hill’s work focuses on the lived experiences of grief and liberation, social and racial justice, and health and education systems transformation. She has more than a decade of experience in participatory action research, visual arts-based research, community engagement and facilitation. Hill is a reader of Queer of Color Critique, Indigenous studies, Black studies and Leadership studies.
Experience
Hill is an associate faculty at Royal Roads University where she teaches in the School of Leadership Studies. She is also a researcher with Anew Research Collaborative at RRU and the Critical Health and Social Action Lab at the University of Toronto.
In 2021, she was awarded the President’s Award for Advancing Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence from the University of British Columbia.
