Dr. Tamara Leary joined RRU in the fall of 2015 as the Program Head for MAHEAL and in 2018 she accepted the appointment of School Director for the School of Education and Technology. She teaches in the MAHEAL program and draws upon her many years as a leader and practitioner in student affairs to offer students an engaging curriculum and learning experience. Leary’s areas of expertise and research interests include student affairs, higher education administration and leadership, faculty unions, and the student experience.
Experience
During her 12-year tenure with UPEI, Tamara held a variety of leadership roles in Student Services, including the director’s role from 2007 to 2012. Tamara has been a contract faculty in Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Master of Post-Secondary Education program and the University of Manitoba’s Center for Higher Education Research and Development program. Tamara has worked as a senior consultant with Academica and as an independent consultant within the higher education sector.
