Dr. Phil Ollenberg is associate faculty in Education and Technology at Royal Roads University. He is a frequent contributor to Canadian conferences on enrolment management and registrarial operations, seeking to improve student outcomes and institutional sustainability. His doctoral research studied intersections between employee engagement and student enrolment in Western Canadian higher education.
Outside of academia, Ollenberg is an active queer rights advocate, Calgary Roughnecks fan, and Disney Parks enthusiast. He is a settler on the traditional territory (Treaty 7) of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Îyâxe Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina nations; and the Métis Nation of Alberta.
Experience
Ollenberg currently serves as the associate registrar (admission and enrolment) at Calgary’s Bow Valley College. Since 2008, he has worked in higher education enrolment management, with a career spanning marketing, recruitment, finance, admissions, registration, articulation, and enrolment planning. Previously, he spent seven years with the University of Regina in marketing, recruitment, and research roles
