Dr. Marcia Docherty is trained as a scholar-practitioner who embeds her research within her organizational roles. She views organizations holistically, as learning ecosystems, and is skilled at using action-oriented research, appreciative inquiry to lead organizational change. Her research interests include learning ecosystems, leadership development, transformational change, the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), Indigenization and the epistemology of competence.
Experience
Dr. Docherty has over 20 years of operational and strategic leadership experience in health education as an instructor, consultant, manager, associate dean and director. She enjoys leading large-scale change initiatives such as whole program redesigns and new program implementations and supporting these initiatives with evidence-informed engagement and evaluation activities.
Docherty began her career as a nuclear medicine technologist and is currently a chartered human resource professional (CPHR). Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to improving the experience, quality and outcomes of healthcare services for those who receive and provide those services.
