Humanitarian Studies

Brin Hamilton is a conflict consultant, mediator, arbitrator, facilitator, human resources professional and the owner of Vancouver-based Ahimsa Mediation & Consulting. She has been an associate faculty member at Royal Roads University since 2016 in the School of Humanitarian Studies. Additionally, she is actively conducting applied research in the fields of conflict management, leadership and workplace health and safety. Both her research and practice are focused on supporting thriving workplaces and organizations. Hamilton is vice-president and secretary of the ADR Institute of British Columbia (ADRBC) Board of Directors.

Experience

Through her work with Ahimsa Mediation & Consulting, Hamilton conducts workplace training and facilitation, mediation, conflict coaching, investigations, civil arbitration and human resources consulting. She teaches conflict resolution and anger management in a community setting to build capacity of individuals to deal with challenging situations. Hamilton is passionate about helping others navigate conflict through effective communication and alternate dispute resolution. Her work has evolved from years of professional experience in HR management and labour relations in a healthcare context.

She is a Qualified Arbitrator (2018) and Certified Professional in Human Resources (2010).
