Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada (PacifiCan) has announced $6.4 million in funding for seven organizations to drive business growth and support economic development initiatives in British Columbia.

Royal Roads is amongst the recipients, receiving $677,800 to support municipal and First Nations economic development partnerships in the Westshore. The funding will help Royal Roads expand community learning partnerships, deepening engagement with existing community partners, while extending outreach to new communities within this burgeoning region.

Royal Roads students, staff and faculty, along with small and medium-sized enterprises, Indigenous communities and public sector partners throughout the Westshore region will collaborate to enhance economic development that increases regional supply chain benefits, promotes knowledge sharing and attracts investment to the community.

PacifiCan’s Community Economic Development and Diversification (CEDD) program invests in projects that harness local ambitions, assets, knowledge and economic opportunities to create more prosperous and resilient communities. With PacifiCan's generous support, we look forward to scaling up community-academic partnerships to strengthen the Westshore's economic growth, diversification and resilience.
