The Melody Andersson Memorial Award assists students who have completed one year of the Master of Arts in Tourism Management program who best describe their plan to use tourism to inspire positive change in a community, with a preference for students demonstrating reasonable financial need.
This award was initiated by alumni of the MA in Tourism and Hospitality Management to honour the memory of Melody Andersson. A highly regarded employee in the School of Tourism and Hospitality, Melody is remembered as loyal and giving, always happy and willing to help, and very devoted to her family. This award reflects her selfless focus on helping others, coupled with her positive approach to life and in the work she did for students.
Eligibility
- has completed one year of the MA in Tourism Management program
- best able to describe how they plan to inspire positive change in a community through tourism
- preference for students demonstrating reasonable financial need
How to apply
- this In-Course Award is open to students who are (or will be) active in their program on the deadline date
- pending the availability of funding, the competition will run annually from March 1st to May 1st (closes 11:59pm RRU time)
- applications are submitted online through MyAdmin. A full list of awards in competition will be viewable upon login
