Managing Interpersonal Conflict: A Guide to Constructive Conflict Engagement

Dr. Malisius was granted Research and Professional Development funds for a proposed textbook to provide a step-by-step guide on conflict engagement to generate healthy work environments.

The purpose of the proposed textbook is to provide an interdisciplinary take on conflict engagement, a comprehensive understanding of conflict and strategies of particular relevance to generating healthy work environments and thriving organizations. It promotes reflective practice in a diverse field and is well suited for emerging and established conflict practitioners and for everyone who wants to be able to better understand and navigate conflict. The textbook explores interpersonal conflict as a process, including a step-by-step guide to decide whether or not to engage with a significant conflict and plan a confrontation, including considering third party help in escalated situations.
