New students (Entrance)

The Langford Education Award has been established by the City of Langford to remove financial barriers for local students and bridge the gap between high school graduation and life-long learning. Qualified applicants submit their award application to the primary degree-granting educational institution, whether Royal Roads, University of Victoria, Camosun College, or Justice Institute.

Eligibility

Royal Roads will accept applications for students applying to attend a Royal Roads program at the Langford campus on Goldstream Avenue, and who:

  • Are 26 years or younger
  • Have graduated from a high school in School District 62 and resided in the City of Langford at the time of graduation (tell us this in the essay requirement).
  • Are enrolled and are entering a Royal Roads, University of Victoria, Camosun College, and/or Justice Institute of British Columbia program offered at the Royal Roads Langford campus
  • Can demonstrate reasonable financial need in the award application.

Preference may be given to students who self-identify as belonging to an under-represented group, including but not limited to: Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQQIS+, neuro-diverse, persons living with a visible or invisible disability, youth from care, and/or first in family to attend post-secondary (tell us this in the essay).

How to apply

  • this Entrance Award application is open to students who will be active in their program this fall.
  • pending the availability of funding, the competition will run annually from:
    • March 1st to May 1st
  • applications are submitted online through MyAdmin.
  • address eligibility in one one-page essay with your name in top margin.
