Jeff Joyce
Student
Doctor of Social Sciences
Jeff Joyce is a BC boy (Quesnel) and grew up (mostly) in the navy; his first career. Throughout his 25 years in uniform, he always felt most fulfilled when involved in training and education. While working at the Naval Officer Training Centre, he completed the Master of Arts in Leadership Training program at Royal Roads (2003), with thesis work on transitioning a marine training organization’s learning culture to being ‘self-led’. Since his first retirement, Joyce has been working in various roles in the transportation (ferry) industry but continues engagement within the adult learning and development space. As such, he is progressing through the DSocSci program, and is focusing his research on the opportunities for business and the learning and development industry with respect to strategic inter-agency engagement, especially when learner-centered principles are upheld.
