Intersecting presenteeism and incivility in long-term health care

Dr. Jorgenson was awarded Research and Professional Development funds or a research project examining presenteeism and incivility in long-term health care.

In this project, we investigate how job crafting influences organizational commitment and retention amongst knowledge workers. Although job crafting occurs over time, longitudinal studies are lacking. Data were collected in Denmark in 2015 and 2017; final data collection is planned for October 2020. The findings from the study are expected to contribute to the literature by providing a rich process focused account of how commitment of knowledge workers is engendered through job crafting activities, and to managerial practice by offering organizations a strategy for job crafting to encourage greater organizational commitment and retention.
