Improving Student Evaluation of Teaching Through Feedback Literacy
Dr. Remillard used Buttedahl and Skene Learning and Teaching Innovation Funds to create an online tutorial to teach students about constructive and useful criticism of teaching.
Dr. Remillard’s research builds on his BSF grant from 2023 which aimed to understand how in-class activities with students may increase student capacity to provide meaningful and beneficial feedback on teaching evaluations. The current year’s research used research results from the previous study to create a short professional online tutorial that trains students on what constitutes constructive and useful criticism of teaching. The hope is that the tutorial will be adopted as part of the distribution of evaluations at RRU.
