A gendered and racialized analysis of stress during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Middle East

Dr. Krause used a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council grant to examine, using a gendered and intersectional lens, the impact of COVID-19 on women in the Middle East.

This research offers a gendered and intersectional analysis of Covid’s impacts on women in the Middle East. The research analyzes data from publicly made data on online forums. 10 experts will be interviewed virtually internationally. I will study demonstrations of leadership and resilience in the context of a crisis. This research will add to a broader understanding of leadership in crisis contexts, and enable an informed planetary health leadership approach to addressing stress during the pandemic, and other crisis situations, particularly in relation to women’s leadership.
