Exploring Ways to Decolonize Program Delivery at RRU

Dr. Heykoop was granted an Allan Cahoon Global Advancement and Diversity Fund to explore, through a workshop at Royal Roads University, the process of decolonization and support integration.

To support RRU’s commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s mandate and the 94 Calls to Action, the School of Leadership Studies along with Asmanahi Antoine and the Heron People, will host a one day workshop to explore how we can begin to decolonize and support the integration of Indigenous ways of being, doing, knowing, relating, and transforming in our structures, programming, and processes. The workshop will bring together members of the RRU community with an interest in decolonizing our programs alongside knowledge holders with wisdom and expertise in decolonizing university curricula and programming. The workshop is an opportunity to transform our practices to nurture more inclusive, diverse, and culturally responsive learning for all.
