Join us on March 26, 2025 from noon to 1 p.m. PDT for an engaging  webinar exploring Amphibious Retrofit Construction (ARC) with renowned industry expert Laurie Pearce and Dr Elizabeth English moderated by Mahmood Fayazi, assistant professor and program head of Royal Roads University's Disaster and Emergency Management program. 

Climate change and the increasing risk of flooding are challenging communities worldwide. In this session Pearce will explore the innovative approaches to managing flooding risks for First Nations and vulnerable communities.

About The Speakers

Laurie Pearce PhD, is a recognized practitioner, educator and researcher in the disaster management community. She provides consultation services for various federal and provincial government organizations, was the Research Chair at JIBC, and her existing research is focused on the impacts of disasters on evacuated households, particularly those impacting Indigenous communities.

Elizabeth English is a Professor at the School of Architecture, University of Waterloo.
