Determining Institutional Pedagogical Identity in Japanese Higher Education

Dr. Hamilton used a Research and Professional Development grant to develop an educational framework on Japanese higher education based on the Learning, Teaching and Research Model.

The requested funding will be used for travel expenses to speak at a number of Japanese universities about the purpose and process of developing an institutional educational framework based on RRU’s experience in creating its own Learning, Teaching and Research Model and the author’s own research on university-wide pedagogical identity. The timing of the proposed presentations is highly appropriate because Japanese Higher Education is going through a period of significant reform which provides universities with an opportunity to examine, articulate, and clarify their own unique strengths as educational institutions.
