Determination of the economic impact of music festivals in BC through the development of a standardized festival survey
Dr. Thomlinson was granted Research and Professional Development funds to analyze economic impacts of music festivals through a reliable and consistent standardized provincial festival survey.
The ultimate purpose of this research is to develop a standardized provincial festival survey and an accompanying Music Festival Economic Impact Analysis Report. The intent of standardizing the survey is to generate reliable and consistent data with a high level of validity and comparability across the music festival industry. The data will be used to create a standardized provincial Festival and Music Industry Survey and Economic Impact Analysis providing accurate information for both individual festivals as well as provincial and national organizations such as Music BC and Music Canada.
