COVID-19 pandemic recovery: Using workplace training to support tourism sector employees (conference attendance) and Volume of Tourism and Hospitality Cases
Rebecca Wilson-Mah received Research and Professional Development funds to examine Whistler employee training requirements in relation to supporting tourism pandemic recovery.
To increase our understanding of tourism sector needs, with an intent to support pandemic recovery, the co-researchers explored Whistler employee training requirements. Taking a qualitative case study approach, focus groups and interviews using open ended questions were conducted. The data was analyzed using NVivo, and an inductive approach was taken to identify patterns and themes. In addition, a review of the current literature was undertaken to identify tourism sector pandemic experiences and training practices. This dissemination activity built on an existing paper published by the researchers (Axe, Wilson-Mah & Dalquiste-Axe, 2022), in which they presented a new model, C4AR.
