Practice: Case Studies on Promoting Children's Wellbeing

Builds on a solid theoretical foundation of child wellbeing (including child and family welfare systems and, child protection), the course explores the practical, programmatic implications of guiding theories. Guides students to assess existing child and family welfare systems, including child protection, examining the impact on children’s wellbeing. Explores what reforming existing child and family welfare systems might look like across different cultural contexts. Critically assesses challenges and strengths of the system's capacity to support child wellbeing, including using anti-racist and decolonizing approaches. Students participate in critical discourse across multiple case studies. Pre-requisite: CPWB500
