Introduces concepts related to Indigeneity, colonization, Indigenous law and politics, Indigenous ways of knowing, Indigenous research and pedagogical methods, decolonization, kinship, Indigenous feminism, Indigenous queer studies, and Traditional ecological knowledge (TEK). Introduces learners to a wide array of Indigenous issues and current events while also connecting these issues to historical legacies rooted in colonial power dynamics. Identifies the spectrum of theoretical and practical approaches to decolonization and Indigenous knowledge mobilization in an effort to introduce learners to the trajectory of Indigenous studies as a school of thought, practice, and source of Indigenous resurgence and revitalization.
