This course focuses on measures and techniques of environmental monitoring in Indigenous communities. Students will learn how to assess air and water quality, biodiversity, soil health, waste, climate, and other indicators of environmental health of the community or territory. Students will learn sampling, data collection, and analysis as well as interpretation of findings. As well as the hard skills of monitoring they will learn about the use of traditional ecological knowledge in observation and interpretation of the health of ecosystems of a territory.
