Explores the evolution of management thoughts and theories and discusses how they inform management research in the DBA program. Examines main organizational theories and practices, including Scientific Management School, Human Relations Approach, Contingency Theory, System Theory, Culture Excellence Approach, Japanese Management Approach, and Organizational Learning Approach. Discusses the applications of postmodernism, realism and complexity perspectives in organizational studies. The concepts of power, politics and culture, and managing change will also be examined in relation to the various management/organizational theories.
