Building Evaluative Literacy in Students for the Purpose of Improved Student Evaluations of Teaching
Dr. Remillard received Buttedahl and Skene Learning and Teaching Innovation Funds to create a Student Evaluation of Teaching literacy workshop to teach students how to provide more valuable feedback.
The research aims to understand how in-class activities with students may increase student capacity to provide meaningful and beneficial feedback on teaching evaluations. The research seeks to determine current best practices for creating critical literacy for students on what constitutes constructive and useful criticism of teaching and test whether guided in-class activities impact the overall quality of student evaluations.
