Originally from West Africa, Bolu was raised in the inner cities of Toronto, Ontario. Following her Diploma in Broadcast-Journalism from Sheridan College, Bolu earned her Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications at Royal Roads University, and finally her Master’s degree in Media Productions at Ryerson University. She has spent several years working in a diverse set of industries including disaster relief, engineering, advertising and broadcasting corporations. In addition, Bolu has committed significant time to volunteering for various community organizations such as the East Metro at Risk Youth Centre, Ryerson University, City TV News, Eye on Sheridan, Nigerian Youth in Canada and Rogers TV. Her research choice of focus is on Indigenous raped women and HIV/AIDS prevention. Bolu’s decision to pursue doctoral studies at Royal Roads University emerges from her interests in health care, professional communications, disaster relief, and humanitarian aid; blended with skills in values-based leadership and conflict management.
