Study Abroad
The BC Scholarship Society, in partnership with the Victoria Foundation, hosts a suite of international scholarships designed to support students from BC in studying abroad.
Eligibility
Scholarships of $2,000 - $5,000 are available from the One World International Scholarship program. These travel funding scholarships are available to students who are Canadian citizens and BC residents and enrolled in a program of at least one year in length, leading to a credential offered by a BC public post- secondary institution.
An eligible study/work abroad program starts within a year of receiving funding and is an activity that is either a formal part of the student's credential program or is an experiential learning opportunity involving language acquisition and/or cultural training.
How to apply
The scholarships are awarded by Royal Roads University. Applications to this program are considered on the basis of academic merit, educational objectives, institutional and/or community involvement, past experiences that relate to potential for success with study abroad, and readiness to go overseas.
A complete application comprises:
- The application form (click 'Learn More' below)
- Unofficial transcripts of all post-secondary studies to date, in British Columbia and elsewhere;
- Two reference forms – one completed by an academic reference (speaking directly to your academic abilities) and one by a non-academic reference (speaking to your volunteer or extra-curricular activities).
Submit the complete application to RRU's Financial Aid & Awards office.
