Amplifying the RbD’s knowledge mobilization and network development

Dr. Cox received Internal Grant for Research funds to study Canadian youth, in multiple locations using diverse methods, and their engagement in climate action.

The research described in this paper sought to explore and contribute to the empowerment of youth by asking youth what, from their perspective, facilitates or hinders their full and meaningful engagement in climate action. The 3-year, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council funded project engaged Canadian youth in multiple locations using diverse methods (e.g., interviews, workshops, quantitative survey) to learn from youth about their experiences of successful engagement on issues or activities of importance to them. Ten core principles guiding meaningful youth engagement are identified and elaborated.
