Action Learning and Evaluation Enhances International Development (international trip June 30th)
Drs. Rowe and Krause received a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Institutional Grant to examine the social and economic development of two Ecuadorian indigenous villages.
Action learning and evaluation (ALEval) processes will be implemented in two Ecuadorian indigenous villages as a means of enhancing social and economic development in each community. The ALEval approach involves key stakeholders coming together in each community with key external international partners to increase understanding of the needs of the community or targeted subgroup, enhance processes of stakeholder engagement and dialogue, to carry out evaluative inquiry actions and finally to plan and monitor community driven strategic interventions. Research will document the processes of engagement, inquiry and learning, and then assess the immediate and sustainable impact of the development initiatives.
