Dr. Bernard was granted Research and Professional Development to firstly explore the book Social Ecology against current usage, and secondly a book on effective consulting practices.

1) Social Ecology Revisited. The term social ecology is currently popular both in academic literature and in common use. This project explores the concepts in Eric Trist and Fred Emery’s original book on Social Ecology (1978) against current usage.
2) Consulting Practice, the Social Engagement of the Social Scientist: This book is a reflection on effective consulting practice from an action learning perspective and the social engagement of the social scientist.
