Impact Analysis of a Work-to-Live Program for Youth at Risk of Homelessness.
Dr. Childs was granted Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council funds to research the impact of the work-to-live experience for youth at risk of homelessness.
At a time where homelessness, inequality and poverty plague Canadian society, Zero Ceiling (ZC) has been working for over 20 years to combat some of the associated issues faced by vulnerable youth. This research project explores the work-to-live (W2L) experience offered by ZC with the intent of understanding the short- and long-term impact, as well as the future requirements for sustainability and growth to inform a Theory of Change. It also examines the alignment of the program to the needs of youth experiencing, or being vulnerable to, homelessness in the Sea to Sky region in British Columbia.
