1) RRU 

The Big RRU Connect Prize draw is administered by Royal Roads University (referred to as “RRU”)  

2) Prize draw Period 

The Prize draw begins March 2, 2026, at 12:00:01 a.m. PDT and ends May 4, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. PDT 

3) Eligibility 

The Prize draw is open to individuals who, at the time of entry: 

  • are Royal Roads University alumni. An RRU alum is defined as “An alum is anyone who has completed a for-credit program at RRU.”  
  • have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence. 

Exclusions Employees of RRU, and members of the RRU Board of Governors, and any individuals involved in the administration of this Prize draw (including agency partners, contractors, and their immediate family/household members) are not eligible to enter or win. 

4) No Purchase Necessary 

No purchase is required to enter or win these two prizes. Nor will a purchase or donation increase the chances of winning.  

5) How to Enter the Update and Win Draw (Primary draw) 

To receive one (1) entry into the Primary Draw, Alum must: 

Visit the landing page located at Stay connected | Royal Roads University during March 3rd and May 4th, 2026; and complete and submit the alumni contact update form with updated and confirmed contact information. This is an automatic entry into the primary draw. 

Entry Limit for the Primary draw:  

One (1) Primary Draw entry per person will count during the Prize draw Period. 

6) How to participate and enter the referral draw  

After an eligible participant completes the Form Submission, they may optionally indicate if they were referred by another eligible RRU alum (the “Referrer”) by providing: 

  • Referrer’s full name, and email address 

(!)The onus is on the referee to obtain full implied or express consent from the referrer to submit their name and email address to Royal Roads University. 

If the RRU, in its reasonable discretion, determines that: 

  • The Referrer is an eligible RRU alum then the Referrer will receive one (1) entry into the Referral Draw. 
  • Multiple Referral entries are accepted. 
  • The RRU may disqualify referral entries that appear to be generated through impersonation, automated means, fabricated details, or any conduct that undermines fairness. 

7) Prize description and amount 

Both vouchers are an Airline Gift card from flightgift.com 

Primary Draw Prize: One (1) $1,000 CAD travel voucher  

Referral Draw Prize: One (1) $500 CAD travel voucher  
Total value of all prizes: $1,500 CAD. 

Prize conditions: 

  • Travel voucher issuer, terms, expiry, and redemption rules are determined by the voucher provider. 
  • Prizes must be accepted as awarded; no cash alternatives offered 
  • RRU is not responsible for lost, stolen, or expired vouchers once delivered to the winner. 

8) Odds of Winning 

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Prize draw Period.  

9) Winner Selection  

Winners will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries by RRU. Referral Draw entries will be drawn separately from the Primary Draw. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. An individual may only win one prize. If selected for both the Primary and Referral Draws, the Primary prize takes precedence, and an alternate winner will be drawn for the Referral Draw. 

Two random draws will be conducted as follows: 

  • Primary Draw Date: 31 May 2026 
  • Refer an Alum Draw Date: 31 May 2026 

10) Skill-Testing Question  

Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance, as required in Canada.  

11) Winner Notification and Claiming the Prize 

Winners will be contacted using the contact information provided in the form. If a winner cannot be reached within 5 business days, an alternate winner may be selected.  

Selected entrants will be contacted by email on 01 June 2026 

RRU will make three (3) email attempts to contact the selected entrant(s) within 10 business days. If a selected entrant: 

  • does not respond within this period of the final attempt, or 
  • fails to answer the skill-testing question correctly, or 
  • is found ineligible, 

An alternate winner may be selected by random draw from remaining eligible entries. 

Verification 
RRU reserves the right to verify alumni status and the validity of any referral entry. Entries that cannot be verified, include incomplete referral information, or do not meet eligibility criteria may be disqualified. 

13) Privacy and Use of Personal Information 

Personal information collected through this prize draw will be used solely for verifying eligibility and administering the draw, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). 14) CASL (Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation) 

All electronic messages that are “commercial electronic messages” (CEMs) are in compliance with CASL requirements, including identification and unsubscribe mechanisms where required. Communications about contest administration (e.g., winner notification) may be sent as necessary to administer the Prize draw.  

15) General Conditions 

  • RRU is not responsible for entries not received due to technical issues, including network, system, or contact form errors.  
  • RRU may cancel, modify, or suspend the Prize draws if integrity is compromised, subject to applicable law. RRU’s decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Prize draws, to the extent permitted by law. 
  • RRU may cancel or modify the prize draws if necessary. RRU may disqualify any entry that appears to manipulate the process or violate the rules. 

16) Release and Limitation of Liability 

By participating, entrants release the RRU from liability related to participation in the Prize draws and acceptance/use of any prize, except where prohibited by law. 

17) Disputes / Governing Law 

The Prize draw is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, and disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, unless otherwise required by law.
