Michael Pardy has taught at Royal Roads since 2010.  Prior to working here, he balanced working for SKILS Ltd with other contract work in the outdoor industry. From 2007 to 2009 he was the executive director of the North American Trade Association of Paddle Sports (TAPS). Pardy has a particular interest in decision-making, leadership, and risk assessment in complex systems. Pardy has worked with individuals, groups, and organizations to develop capacity and systems to support decision-making, leadership, and risk assessment for more than 30 years. 

Experience

Pardy is the chairperson of SKILS Ltd, which offers teaching, training and certification in outdoor leadership and education. He also teaches in the Sports Management program at Camosun College. Pardy also volunteers his time with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC and Paddle Canada. He serves on a number of advisory boards including the Recreation Boating Advisory Council of Canada and the Curriculum Committee of the Outdoor Council of Canada.
