President Steenkamp: From Black history to Black futures and beyond

For my video this week, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Olaolu Adeleye, an award-winning School of Communication and Culture associate faculty member. We spoke about Black History Month, a topic that inspired a wide-ranging conversation on everything from African history to Black futures and beyond. We also spoke about the future of our anti-racism action plan and ways we can create spaces at both our Colwood and West Shore campus where students not only feel safe, but also can thrive. It’s a 30-minute video and well worth the watch. For selected highlights, here is a two-minute version.
